Do you mindfully watch the plants around you? The ones in your home, and the ones in nature? I am blessed to have this little friend in the kitchen with me. I gaze at this jade plant every time I’m at the sink. One of these days I need to learn their name. At any rate, I have noticed it goes through it’s own cycles. It grows. A few leaves shrivel up on occasion and fall off. And then new growth often begins at those nodes. As I watch this, I notice how we go through similar cycles of growth in our own lives. We thrive. Perhaps we are content with how things are. And then, something just isn’t working for us any more. It exits our lives. Perhaps it hurts, perhaps it feels like a relief. But either way, it is open space for new, richer, or perhaps deeper, growth.

Can you think of some cycles you observe in your own life?

Jade Plant

As always, thank you, gentle reader, for joining me on my mindful moments. I hope that by sharing the magical moments in my life, it will somehow enrich your own experiences in your life.

Bright blessings,
Rev. Jessica
