Welcome to my first full week of daily mindful moments. This is a compilation of the mindful moments I have shared on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. These include a couple prayers I recently added to my Youtube channel.

Thank you for tuning in to another mindful moment. Today is a rainy, thunderous day. It’s as if nature is pressure washing us, emotionally and spiritually. The past couple weeks, I have been using an exercise I learned from a dear friend when I was green in my journey. It’s pretty simple. I just take a moment to concentrate on an element. In this case, it’s the falling rain. And I allow myself to receive it. One can use this with air (the wind), and earth (rocks or dirt), and fire (the sun).
As I was receiving the rain, a damselfly rested on my window. According to Ted Andrews “Animal-Speak: Pocket Guide,” Damselfly indicates clear intuition and perceptions. It also indicates new steps forward in healing and doing one’s spiritual work.

Today, I am sharing a second prayer that I use daily. This one sets my intent to communicate through my oversoul, to others’ oversouls. Why communicate through this channel? Because it bypasses the ego, which muddies our ability send clear heart centered messages, and to accurately receive them.
Again, much gratitude to our dear Rev. Kari Chapman of
for granting me permission to share this one.

Do you pay attention to your dreams? Dream interpretation can actually be practical. Our dreams often guide us to valuable areas of our soul, or waking life, that could use healing and attention.
Sometimes I have some interesting dreams. Last night I dreamt that I made brownies. Everything food related, is associated with spiritual nourishment. Kitchens represent creation. Ovens are associated with transformation, and alchemy. Desserts represent sweet rewards. Chocolate symbolizes love and joy. So, I was preparing to celebrate accomplishments by nourishing my spirit with love and joy. When I woke up, I felt kind of sad that I didn’t have a chance to actually eat the brownie in my dream. So this morning I baked brownies. And the rest of the day I allowed myself to do mostly recreational things. Even though we may absolutely love our job or careers, it is good for the soul to take an occasional day to focus mostly on recreation.

Do you have a garden, or flower beds? Do you talk to your plants?
I have a few flower beds, and a patch with some bell peppers and herbs. As I water and tend to them, I talk to them. I tell them how beautiful they are. That they are growing so nicely. I also apologize to them when I neglect them.
I find that tending my garden is more than just a way to connect with individual plants. I marvel at the various insects, and speak to them. There are some special rocks that I thank. I feel they anchor some special energies here. I also commune with the spirit of the land that supports my home. And I thank the fairy realm for their support as well. Plus I can’t forget the trees! I show them some special love and gratitude.
Pictured below is one of my flower beds, with my favorite rock. It is a combination of quartz, maybe granite, and mica. It’s big enough to sit on. The flowers around it are currently between blooms.

Do you sometimes feel called strongly connect with a deity/ascended master/star being/etc. in a different way than usual?
Late last night (or early this morning) I was called to do a jaapa meditation to connect with Kali maa. I have been working with her since 2006. I’ll let you do the math 😉 I find that Kali is very compassionate towards her children, and fiercely protective. When your knees hit the floor, she’s their to shift energy. Jaapa meditation, is the kind that uses mala beads. For each of the 108 beads, one says a mantra. By doing this, one connects, and perhaps even embodies, the vibration the mantra is expressing.
At any rate, my knees haven’t hit the floor (I’ve been doing pretty good), but once in a while (a few times a year) I feel called to do this. Last night was slightly different though. I felt the jaapa meditation wasn’t just for me. I don’t normally practice it in the company of others. But last night I was directed to record it. So, I have posted it on Youtube. All 108 Kali maa mantras. I really don’t expect many people to listen to much of it. But if you do, be mindful of the volume. I tried to speak quietly so I wouldn’t wake my sleeping kids. And when you finish this transmission, remember to turn your device volume back down 😉

As we observe America’s Independence Day, I am reminded how all places have a soul and karma. All countries, states, counties, cities, and properties have karma. I define karma, as lessons, contracts, and energy exchange connected to a being, place, and/or thing. I am also reminded of this nation’s founding father’s, and the karma that they created. As we walk in chaotic discomfort these days, I feel this nation is doing a lot of conscious (and especially subconscious) karma resolution. We are being shown some uncomfortable truths, given opportunities for healing, and opportunities to reinvision a just/equitable way of being.
Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

My apologies for posting this in the “11th hour.” It has been a busy, but magical, day. Dragonfly visited me a few times. Dragonfly is associated with discernment.
I am sharing a prayer I use daily from Rev. Kari Chapman (of The Namaste Healing and Retreat Center) to help me to clearly know and understand messages that come through from spirit.
